Thursday's game vs. Valencia
There is an error on the schedule for Thursday's game vs. Valencia. We are playing FS/JV at 4:00
and Varsity at 5:15. This should allow enough time for the parents to attend if they want. Please have all the
players bring money to the game for food before and after because it will be a late night.

This Week In Volleyball...
Congratulations to all three teams for playing well last week. JV won their pool and advanced in the
playoffs at the Gahr Tournament. FS got second in their pool and advanced in the playoffs in the Gahr Tournament.
Varsity played well against Orange Lutheran in the 3rd Annual Steve Lewis Volleyfest.
This week
Varsity and FS play Jordan AT Jordan on Tuesday and all three teams travel to Valencia on Thursday. Thursday's schedule
consists of us leaving at 12:00 p.m. from the sports gate. Pink slips will be handed out for missing period 5 on Thursday.
Friday will be a special day for Lakewood Volleyball. Frosh/Soph will travel to Poly to
play them in a non-league match at 3:00 with the bus leaving at 2:00. Junior Varsity will play at Lakewood in a non-league
match against Poly at 3:00. Varsity will play the #1 high school team from Australia named Gladstone. IT
IS MANDATORY THAT ALL GIRLS MUST ATTEND THAT MATCH. The match will start at 5:00 and all of the girls will
then travel to the Lakewood vs. Poly Football league opener at Vets Stadium. Our Australian visitors have never seen
American Rules Football so it should be great.
We need more food donations for Friday so please
check out the previous notices with those same lists. We could use all the help that we can get!!!

School Loop....
Parents please register yourself and your children on School Loop. You can access it from the Lakewood
High School website at www.lakewoodhigh.com. Look at the top and click under LHS Directory and follow the directions from there.
With the enrollment you can see your children's grades and missing assignments. These pages are updated daily
and are a big help in the communication process with their instructors. I am able to access EVERYONE'S grades and
see those who need help.

Gatorade or Powerade - any flavor will do!
Chili - Industrial Size can
Nacho Cheese Sauce - Industrial Size can
Tortilla Chips - Industrial Size bag
Asstd. Candy/Lollipops - Snickers,
M&M's, Hershey's etc.
Cases of Soda - Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, Sprite, Orange
Ketchup/Mustard/Relish/Jalapenos
Teriyaki Chicken (Already Prepared) - frozen bag
Cooked Jasmine rice
Assorted
Corn nuts
Please bring them to school tomorrow BEFORE school.
Put your name on the package so I know who gets credit. I will give two yours for every big item that you donate.

Uniform Update...
Check out the uniform due page for an update on the uni's. If there is a $25 at the end and a 0 in
the media guide then you did not get a sponsor. You MUST get a sponsor, it does not matter who it is and if I don't
have it by Wednesday you will be charged the $25.00 and not get the sponsor in the media guide. Please take care of
this ASAP.

Congratulations JV and Varsity in tournament action...
Congratulations go out to the Junior Varsity in their recent tournament at Capistrano Valley. They took
2nd place in their pool beating El Toro, Tesoro and Beckman. In the playoffs they lost to 6th seed Corona Del Mar in
a hard fought battle. Great Job JV and keep up the great work!
Varsity came out of a tough bracket and a
very good Flintridge Sacred Heart team to set up a showdown on Monday at 6:30 at Gahr against Los Alamitos. This will
be a matchup between two teams who met in the CIF-SS I-AA Semi-Finals in 2004. Varsity could use all of the support
of the parents and players on Monday.

Media Guide Sponsorship
Remember it is MANDATORY to have a media guide sponsor. You are responsible for
atleast one sponsor. I will extend the deadline until Tuesday September 4th when the uniform fees are due.

The bus will leave for Mater Dei on Tuesday at 2:30. You must be there by 2:00 if you are late the
bus will leave without you. Please plan accordingly. Please check out the tournament page for directions to Mater
Dei.
