Molten/Gahr Invitational

The tournament will last 4 days and all help is needed to make it a successand it is required that each player help with the tournament on their assigned days. Practices will run early during those days so that there are no conflicts. In addition to helping, each player needs to bring their donation in order to start our snack bar. The list is below:

Varsity: (2) 12-pack of Soda (Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke or Dr. Pepper)

Junior Varsity: (2) package of Hot Dogs and (2) package of Buns

Frosh/Soph Red: (1) box of candy (Hershey's, M & M's, Reese's etc.)

Frosh/Soph White: (2) bags of individual chips (Dorito's, Freeto's, Lay's etc.)

Please bring them to your coach by Friday's practice so we can donate it to the snack bar for Monday morning's game.  

Turnaround

The turnaround was a huge success. Thanks go out to Kristen Eyanson, Sunny Garcia and all the other parents that helped load busses and other vital things. It is just getting bigger so we can do it again next year.

Adopt A Lancer

I am extending the deadline to this Friday September 2 at 4:00 p.m. I cannot take any after that date so please go out and sell those shirts!

Cooks Night Out

Reminder to go eat at Souplantation this week on Wednesday August 31st inbetween the times of 5-8 p.m. We get a portion of the profits so check it out!!!

Practices this week will continue to be the same times as last week. In case you forgot here it is:

Scrimmage at Villa Park

We scrimmage at Villa Park this week on Thursday September 1st. The bus leaves at 2:00 p.m. and is a ONE WAY bus so the girls are responsible to get their own ride home. Come on out and enjoy.

Turnaround Information

The bus leaves at 7:00 a.m. at the sports gate which is located on the north side of the campus next to the staff parking lot. See you there! 

Popcorn Order

Popcorn Orders Due this Thursday August 25th at 8:00 a.m. Please turn those in by tomorrow morning...preferably today!!!

Turnaround Donations

If there are any donations for the turnaround please turn those in to Coach Wadley by Friday. We need more donations!!!

First Practice

Please check the schedule for the first day of practice schedule. Also reminder if you did NOT get cleared you MUST still attend practice but cannot practice until you get cleared by the nurse this Thursday August 25th. No Exceptions!!!

Adopt A Lancer Due Date

The Adopt A Lancer due date is Monday August 30th. Please have everything in a marked envelope.

Popcorn Fundraiser

Steve Abrams will be here to pick up the popcorn order forms on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. Please make sure that all forms have been turned in by that time or that day. No Exceptions!!!

Scrimmage At Mater Dei

Friday August 26th is a scrimmage at Mater Dei at 10:00 a.m. There will be a ONE WAY bus to take the girls there but they are responsible to return on their own. The scrimmage will go from 10-1 and the bus will leave at 9:00 a.m. Please mark your calendars.

Physicals

The new principal Mr. Jimenez informed all the Fall coaches today that each player has to have their paperwork cleared by the nurse before practice. She will be in the nurse office on Thursday August 18th from 11-1. This is the only time she will be here before August 25th so that means your daughter could miss the first week of practice if she is not cleared. Please pass on to anyone who might not get the message. This is very important to the school district that this is done before we practice. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience that you may encounter. If you have any questions please email me at mwadley@lbschools.net.

Practice Times

Starting August 22nd:

Varsity - 8-10 and 2-4 (Main Gym)

Junior Varsity - 3-5 (Small Gym)

Frosh Soph Red and White - 4-6 (Main Gym)

Barring any unforseen problems this will be the practice times for the season. (not counting the 8-10 for the varsity)

Game Schedule

The game schedule has been updated for the addition of the Frosh/Soph White team. Also the scrimmage has changed with the dates and one has been added. Villa Park will be the official scrimmage and the Mater Dei/Esperanza day will be a non-counting scrimmage. The Villa Park scrimmage is one the new schedule and the Mater Dei/Esperanza day will be August 26th at Mater Dei with times TBA. Please adjust your calendars.

On Wednesday August 31 from 5-8 pm, purchase dinner and a beverage at Souplantation in the Lakewood Mall, and 20% of all purchases will be donated to the Volleyball team.  All you need to do is  give this flyer to the cashier when you pay.

Lakewood Girl's Volleyball now has a Twitter and Facebook account. Please follow us on Twitter @lkwdvolleyball and on Facebook at Lakewood Girl's Volleyball. Both are closed to outside people but send an invite and you will be let in. This is a great way to communicate to parents and to keep up with scores etc. when you can't watch you child play.

Turnaround Fundraiser

The turnaround this year is sold out! We have over 100 people going on two busses and now have started a waitlist for those that are wanting to go. Please let Coach Moenoa know if there is anyone wanting on the waitlist.

Donations

We need more donations for the turnaround because of the size of the fundraiser this year. If there is anyone out there that can donate things like t-shirts, gift cards and other items that would be greatly appreciated. Remember this is for your children and any items donated help us. I also have the tax ID# and will email when requested for a donation.
