Picture day will be this coming Monday October 24th in the Main Gym at 2p.m. Envelopes
will be passed out today at practice. Do not make checks out to Lakewood High School or the Volleyball Program. Please read
the envelope for instructions.

Clinic this weekend and next
Just a reminder that
Goldenwest Volleyball Club will be conducting a clinic this weekend at American Sport Center for players ages 15 and 16 year
old or freshman and sophomores. The 15's time is from 9-11:00 a.m. and 16's from 11:30-1:30 p.m. Each clinic is $10. Please
check out the page on the left for more information.

This Week in Volleyball
Thanks goes out to everyone who gave time to the Volleyfest on Saturday.
It was a huge success and it showed with the teams that participated.
Monday - Regular practice times.
Tuesday - All teams to Wilson. This bus is a ONE-WAY
bus so please make arrangements to get rides home from Wilson.
Wednesday - Regular practice times.
Thursday - Varsity and Junior Varsity vs. Compton at Lakewood.
Both FS teams practice in the small gym either from 2-4 or 4-6.
Friday - Regular practice times.

This week is a long week
for the program. I want to thank everyone for their support in the last couple of weeks and everyone turning in their uniform
money on time. I would like to remind all lower level players that they are NOT allowed to leave early from the
Varsity matches. The varsity were on the lower level teams when they were younger and it is not fair for them
to not have their support. Please adhere to the rules that have been set for the last 8 years and that were discussed in the
parent meeting.
Tuesday
Santa Margarita at Lakewood. It is a late starting match so I want to see everyone
there supporting all the teams that are playing.
Wednesday
Pancake
breakfast money is due! Fine slips will be sent out if the money is not turned in.
Thursday
Lakewood at Millikan. This is the beginning of the 2nd round in league and this is a regular starting
time. Bus leaves at 2:00. This bus is a one-way bus.
Friday
Lakewood F/S and JV at Los Alamitos. All three teams will travel to Los Alamitos to play in a non-league match. Bus
leaves at 2:00. This bus is a one-way bus.
Saturday
The
7th Annual Steve Lewis Volleyfest. This is a special day to honor former Lancer Head Coach Steve Lewis. Matches
that will be played are as followed:
11:00 – Long Beach Jordan vs. Villa Park
1:00 – Long Beach Millikan vs.
Warren
3:00 – Long Beach Wilson vs. Canyon
5:00 – Long Beach Poly vs. Marina
7:00
– Lakewood vs. Los Alamitos
It is mandatory that all players are in attendance that
day to help clean and keep the gym going. We will be using the snack bar and each player will be asked to work somehow through
out the day. Times are listed for each team:
10:00 – 1:00 Frosh/Soph B
1:00 – 4:00 Frosh/Soph A
4:00
– End Junior Varsity
Each team is wanted back at the gym for the varsity match against Los Alamitos.
If you are off before that please be back by 6:30. Again this is a special day recognizing a special man and help is need
by each and every player in the program.

Uniform Balance, Adopt-A-Lancer T-Shirts, Snack Bar Donations and Pancake Breakfast Tickets
Uniform Balance
Just a friendly reminder that all uniform balances need to be paid by this Friday October 7th. If paying by check
or Money Order please pay to Lakewood Volleyball Booster Club. This bill will be paid early next week so it is imperative
that all balances are reduced to zero.
Adopt-A-Lancer
T-Shirts
The shirts should be in by early next week.
We had a huge order and the printing shop was backed up so that is the reason behind the late order.
Snack Bar Donations
We have done well with the snack bar this year. We need more donations from each player in order to keep things running.
If not we keep dipping into our earnings to replenish the snack bar which is cournterproductive.
Frosh/Soph Red - (2) 12 packs of soda. (Coke, Diet, Sprite or Dr. Pepper)
Frosh/Soph White - (1) 36 pack of potato chips
Junior
Varsity - (2) packs of hot dogs and buns to match
Varsity
- (1) box of candy (Hershey's, Skittles or Starbursts etc.)
Please
bring the above items to school on Monday October 10th for our home game against Santa Margarita next week.
Pancake Breakfast
The pancake breakfast is this weekend on Saturday October 8th. Both Frosh/Soph teams will have 2 representatives
attend from 7:30-9:30. The tickets are due on Friday October 7th.
